US Portsmouth 10 V Havant 35
On 27th Jan due to the appalling weather, this game was able to go ahead by moving from Havant RFC to US Portsmouth. The conditions were still very muddy and windy, but at least there was no rain. Both sides had played very little rugby and this was a good opportunity for them to get the rugby flowing again. We played 3 shortened games with Havant putting out mixed ability and rolling subs. The game, in parts, was very forward orientated with fiercely contested forwards play. When the backs did see the ball they were able to run it and pass down the line. Constant pressure from Havant caused mistakes from US Portsmouth and put the pressure on, which was able to Havant capitalise on.
