The Sirens kicked off their league campaign in emphatic fashion with a 101–0 victory over Aldershot & Fleet in an exciting opening fixture.

While the scoreline tells one story, huge credit must go to Aldershot & Fleet, who were playing their first ever league match after competing in Inner Warrior rugby last season and making the step up into NC3 this year. Despite finding themselves under pressure, they never let their heads drop, continued to battle until the final whistle and showed great spirit throughout. We would like to thank them for hosting us and look forward to welcoming them to Havant later in the season.

From the opening whistle, the Sirens played with pace and purpose, moving the ball well and creating opportunities across the pitch. Louise Donald led the way with an outstanding six-try performance, consistently finding gaps in the defence and turning pressure into points.

Amy Smyth was equally influential, crossing three times and earning Player of the Match for an all-action display. Nette Petley and Isabella Coote each added two tries of their own, while Grace Allibone and Libby Fox also got on the scoresheet to cap off a dominant team performance.

The Sirens' attacking dominance was matched by their accuracy from the tee. Michelle Lewis enjoyed an exceptional afternoon with the boot, successfully converting 13 of 15 attempts to add a further 26 points and keep the scoreboard ticking over throughout the match.

The result reflected a true squad effort, with players contributing across the field in both attack and defence. The Sirens maintained their intensity from start to finish, setting a strong standard for the season ahead and securing maximum points from their opening league fixture.

A big thank you once again to Aldershot & Fleet for their hospitality, sportsmanship and determination throughout the match. We wish them every success in their first league season and look forward to meeting again later in the campaign.
