Preseason starts with a Channel Island workout!

Preseason Started with an away trip to the Channel Island of Guernsey to play Nat 2 East side Guernsey Raiders. Twenty-two players made the trip with Will Knight giving Senior debuts to several new and up and coming faces.
Two early tries put Guernsey on the front foot, but Joel Knight scored Havant's opening try and converted, giving the Raiders an early lead with twenty gone. The home side scored two more tries before Ben Holt then Sean Shepherd narrowed the gap to just three points. Halftime 22-19.
The 2nd period saw Havant defend for their lives, but Guernsey pulled away with a couple of late tries. Final score 43-19

"It was a great way to kick off preseason and we got a lot from the game. We were up against Nat 2 opposition and that was a good test. The players that stepped up all made a good impression and there were debuts for a number of the squad. The most important aspect will be some of the shared memories and experiences that are invaluable as we move forward as a group. Fitness looked good so hats off to the S & C team. We go again of Friday against Winchester and will look to step up again and give some of those not available last weekend a run out."
