Havant versus Camberley for the third time this season. At stake a place in semi-final of this seasons Papa Johns Cup.
Another bumper crowd swelled by the President's lunch. Cup fever had everyone talking at the Lane.
Will Knight's selection saw the return of captain Jacob Knight and also saw a place on the bench for Ash Chirima and Eddie Lewis.
The game was only minutes in when Sam Vince scored the opening try. Camberley responded less than five minutes later, and this is how the game went for the whole eighty minutes. By halftime with Havant leading 4-3 in tries and Camberley down to thirteen players due to indiscretions trying to keep Havant out. The referee blew for the break, a breathless half which had the faithful on the edge of their seats. Havant's tries were scored by Wes Dugan who got two and Sean Shepherd (who else).

The 2nd period was only minutes old when Harrison Young was binned for 10 minutes. Giving Camberley the advantage which they then converted into points, making the score 29-28. The pulsating game continued at a fast pace with neither side giving an inch in defence, and some of the attacking play was superb as both teams battled it out.
Havant had a golden period and for fifteen minutes Camberley struggled to contain the blue and white hoops, Jacob Knight's penalty was followed by a fantastic team try finished off by winger Jack Phillips, advantage Havant 39-28 with less than fifteen minutes to play.
But you write Camberley off at your peril and sure enough they came back scoring two tries, the last of which put them 39-42 up with the clock deep in the red.
Havant kicked off, and despite Camberley trying to play keep ball and finish the game off they conceded a penalty, Jacob Knight kicked to touch and the rest as you know is history, the catch and drive was superb rolling towards the Camberley line. Out from the back of the maul Sean Shepherd went blindside and powered over the line and the Lane erupted. Camberley looked crest fallen as Sean Shepherd dive over. The conversion was good, and Havant were in the semi-final.

A group stage game that surely would have been fit to grace the hallowed turf of Twickenham, Havant's never say die attitude won it again deep in stoppage time, but a huge shout out to the Camberley team who pushed Havant to the limit. I'm sure our paths will cross again in the future.

Will Knight's comments after the game.
"What an unbelievable game of rugby and showcase of the very best at Level 5. Camberley came to play and just kept coming and coming. There was some brutal defence from both teams and great attacking play too. I am running out of things to say about this group of Havant players - they just do not ever believe they are beaten. They play every second of the game and have yet again pulled off an amazing victory. This one will be remembered at the Lane for a long time."
