Havant traveled to Kent for the last time to play Sidcup, in what looks like their last game in London &SE Premier. The RFU will be creating and moving Havant to a more central position in the South with new teams in the league yet to be announced, but still at level 5.
Will Knight was forced as late as Saturday morning into changing an already changed side. With sickness and unavailability robbing Havant of 5/6 players from the previous six game-winning run. Step in Jake Reynolds and Ryan Ray for their first appearances of the season, making forty-one players used this season.
Starting the game a little disjointed Havant had to weather Sidcup's fast and furious start. The game certainly did not feel like an end-of-season game with anything really to play for. Although the "Hav" players always play for the badge.
With the clock showing ten minutes Havant broke the deadline after great hands between the forwards and the backline released Harry Carr on the wing to score between the posts, converted by Joel Knight and Havant had the early lead. 0-7.
With Havant falling foul of the referee at the break-downs, Sidcup was soon on the board with a penalty. 3-7.
The game was not for the faint-hearted with some full-bloodied tackling and defense from both sides, Although Havant was struggling to keep on the referee's good side.
Twenty-two minutes and Havant won good line-out ball and the rolling maul made its way to the Sidcup try line, with one final push they were over for try number two, with Armandus Morgan coming up with the ball. The conversion way out on the right touchline was missed giving Havant the lead 3-12.

Sidcup was by no means out of the game, Havant's defensive resolve was sorely tested but they held firm.
Harry Carr almost added a fifth try but fumbled the ball after pressure from two defenders, Sidcup then cleared to halfway.
The final few minutes saw Havant's game management at its best. Reuben Knight kicked two 50/22 kicks not only relieving the pressure but setting up another try from a line-out, Harrison Young's celebrations were cut short by the whistle of the referee!
Havant saw out the final moments for victory number seven on the bounce and a credible 5th place finish in their first season back at level 5 in ten years. The faithful had much to cheer from the sidelines.

Thoughts from Head-coach Will Knight
" What a great way to end the season. To come to Sidcup and get a bonus-point win is never easy. For a game where both sides were playing only for pride, it was full-bloodied and very physical. We took our chances well and defended the line with real intensity. Sidcup kept on coming at us and credit to them they never gave up. To finish the season on the winning streak we have had is impressive and sets us up well for our preparations for next season."
