Top of the table game between Dolphins at 1 and Basingstoke at 2. A penalty gave Basingstoke the first points as they went 3-0 up. Havant's front row of Luke Marks, Sean and Nick Stoffel were dominant in the set piece and second rows Will Double and Criag Durnin battled every line out. In defence Basingstoke were forced to kick to relieve pressure but the return attack saw wing Chris Buckle in in the corner, 14-3. Basingstoke grab what points the could with another penalty, 14-6. Dolphins took hold of the game and were dominant in every aspect Sean added a brace of tries to secure the bonus point on 28 minutes, 28-6 to Dolphins. Scrum Half Robbie Hume added another, but wing James Wise was held up in goal to prevent Dolphins sixth of the half, 35-6.
Jack Ward Golden came on for Nick Stoffel at the half time break to add some maturity to the front row. Basingstoke weren't going down without a fight and frustrated Dolphins at every turn, but Craig Durnin went over for a try 9 minutes into the half, 42-6. Will Perry, on debut, replaced Chris on the wing and Will Brock made his return replacing Harrison Chalk in the back row. Kelton New at 8 and Alfie Wainscoat on flanker were knocking down every Basingstoke attack. A frustrating 20 minute period in which Dolphins failed to capitalise on opportunities despite the running combinations of Harry Carr at centre an d Rory Penfold at Full back. Fly Half Tom Gwyver recovered from a painful injury and soldiered on and finally after a break by Alfie, Robbie juggled to bal to line for his 2nd of day, 49-6. Dolphins were after another 50 point win and 5 minutes later after a determined run by Harry Carr, James Wise picked off base of ruck and scrambled 1m to touch down. The setting sun obscured the posts and a conversion finally went astray. Final score 54-6 to Dolphin. 7 from 7 and 7 points clear on top of the table.
