The Dolphins set sail for the Isle of Wight looking for win 9 from 9 in the league with this fixture against 2nd in League Sandown & Shanklin and knowing they have to hop to another island next week away at Guernsey. The game started at a frantic pace and it was clear the home team were not intimidated by the Dolphins and were going to scrap for everything. Their tenacity paid off as they scored first through winger Harry Thomas and the conversion was good. Dolphins answered immediately with a try from Harrison Chalk, converted by Harry Rabjohn; first of four on day, 7-7. Dolphins began to dominate and the front row of Charlie Davis, Sean Shepherd and Kelton New were solid in the set piece scrums driving S&S scrum backwards. The mess at the base of the S&S scrum allowed Dolphins scrum half Robbie Hume to cause chaos and in a brilliant 6 minutes he stole the ball three times to score tries, 28-7. The penalty count allowed S&S back into the game but a try from great support work by winger Freddie Hayes saw Dolphins take the half 33-7.
Back row of Jacob Ainsworth, Will Brock and Harrison Chalk were dominating and the locks Ash Wakefield and Will Sauders were giving Dolphins dominance. The backs, marshaled by fly half Eddie Lewis, got into the game and centres Will Perry and Harry Rabjohn put Winger Patrick Warriner in in the corner, 38-7. Penalties again saw Dolphins failing to fully shut out S&S and full back and captain Rory Penfold was having to work hard to keep them going forward. Off the bench Will Double and Ethan Pernia made an impact and Harry Rabjohn finished off a good attack off base of a Dolphins scrum, 43-7. S&S weren't done and capitalised on mistakes made by the Dolphins to add two tries and a conversion, 43-19. Dolphins had last word as Harrison Clark got his second, 48-19 Final Score.
Pack the bags for next weeks trip to Guernsey for game number 10.
