The Dolphins went in search of their 11th win of the season to achieve the 50/50 split on games in the season. They had already secured a very respectable 7th place as 1 of only 2 2nd XV from 5 to be promoted to Regional 2 this season that are staying up. Too many penalties sacrificed territory and too many mistake gave up possession against a spirited Ellingham & Ringwood who wanted the win far more that it appeared the Dolphins did.
Both teams scored 5 tries with a brace from winger James Wise and hat trick from centre James Booth. In attack Dolphins looked the dominant side but gave up the ball far too often and E&R made the most of some poor defence. Oranges at half time were nice touch from E&R.
We wish E&R well in Hampshire Counties 1 next season and hope to see them back up soon.
For the Dolphins the league is done and they have one more outing:
24th February Friday Night Lights, 75 years to the day they replicate Havant's first ever game against the Stormers (The lads from Thorney Island MOD). Curry Night being laid on by the club.
