Sunday saw Havant Women take the journey up to Gloucestershire to face Drybrook. With mixed fortunes against this team over the last few seasons, Havant were hunting for the win. Pitch conditions were boggy on arrival but this didn’t deter a hungry Havant from surging at the first whistle.
The first 15 minutes showcased the strength of the Havant pack, who dominated in the scrums, making it difficult for Drybrook to build any momentum. It didn’t take long for the ball to make it into the capable hands of Cerys Ralph who is making a name for herself this season as the team’s top try scorer! This game was to prove no different with Cerys grabbing herself another 3 tries. She was joined by Nina Hoadley, Jess McCauley and Amy Brittan, who also had a brilliant conversion rate, leaving Havant the victors, 43-0.
This left Havant Women sitting pretty at 2nd in the table with 4 games left this season. With such a smashing entrance to Champ 2, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season will bring!
