Havant Women continued their strong start to the season with an impressive 45–5 victory over Bath Ladies United, producing an all-round team performance packed with attacking intent, clinical finishing and determined defence.
From the opening whistle, Havant set the tone, playing with confidence and purpose. The forwards laid an excellent platform, allowing the backs to play with width and tempo, while the defensive line remained organised and relentless throughout.
Natasha Bullock was one of the standout performers in attack, crossing for two tries and consistently threatening with ball in hand. Beth Wilcox also grabbed a brace, rewarding another tireless display with two well-earned scores. Erin Hart, Emily Freeman and Jenna Hughes each added tries of their own as Havant continued to turn pressure into points.
Havant’s dominance was further reflected from the kicking tee, where Abi Pearson successfully converted five of seven tries, adding an invaluable 10 points and helping maintain the scoreboard pressure throughout the contest.
While the attack will rightly earn plaudits, the victory was built on a complete squad effort. Havant worked hard for one another across the pitch, combining physicality, discipline and creativity to keep Bath Ladies United on the back foot for much of the game.
As the match progressed, Havant maintained their intensity and composure, refusing to let their standards slip and ensuring they saw out the game in convincing fashion. It was an encouraging performance that highlighted the strength in depth across the squad and continued the momentum built in recent weeks.
Credit must also go to Bath Ladies United for their efforts throughout the match and for continuing to compete until the final whistle.
