Havant Women secured a hard-fought 17–14 victory over Cullompton in a tightly contested match that came right down to the final stages. In a game where every point mattered, Havant showed resilience, determination and composure under pressure to come away with a valuable win.
The home side made a strong start and were rewarded when Katie Hains crossed for the opening try. Abi Pearson added the conversion to give Havant an early advantage. Building on that momentum, Natasha Bullock powered over for Havant's second score of the afternoon, helping the hosts establish control during the first half.
Cullompton remained competitive throughout and continued to test the Havant defence, but the home side held firm to take their lead into the break.
After half-time, Havant struck again through Beth Wilcox, extending their advantage and putting themselves in a strong position. However, Cullompton refused to let the game slip away and responded with two converted tries to set up a tense finish.
With the visitors pushing hard in the closing stages, Havant's defence dug deep, showing tremendous commitment and discipline to protect their lead. Every tackle and turnover became increasingly important as the clock wound down, and the squad's determination ultimately proved enough to secure a deserved 17–14 victory.
The match also marked a special milestone for Emilie Lewis, who earned her 25th cap for Havant Women. Congratulations to Emilie on reaching this fantastic achievement.
